‘Lay Me Down’ was the first single that made me fall in love with Sam Smith’s voice and emotional storytelling via his lyrics. Hearing him sing this song on Saturday Night Live more than 9 months ago had such a major affect on me, I immediately purchased his record – based off of this one song. It was that beautiful.
Earlier this month, we were finally treated to the official video of this heartfelt track. Check it out.
I am absolutely loving his new album, ‘The 20/20 Experience’, and cannot stop listening to it during my downtime. And it seems he’s been on one helluva ride lately with the success that has come from it. Earlier this month, he appeared on ‘Late Night with Jimmy Fallon’ for an entire week, participating in various skits, and of course performing songs from the new record, as well as some old tunes.
Kendrick Lamar hit Saturday Night Live over the weekend with a live band and two tracks from Good Kid, m.A.A.d City, which has been certified gold.
Lamar handled his SNL debut smoothly and impressively, and proves that this particular appearance was just another benchmark in the bright career of the Compton emcee.
