Heading to Parramatta for the first time at the Albion Hotel on April 28, South West Sydney MC B-Wise, New Zealand-via-Zimbabwe’s rising export TAPZ and one-to-watch MANU CROOK$ will come together to celebrate the rise of afro hip-hop in the heart of Sydney’s Greater West.

Let’s be real: Australia, and particularly Sydney, has been going through some tough live music times. We’ve all experienced the struggle of trying to find a bar after-after hours to enjoy a drink and some live music.
But on May 27, that will all change for one night as Aussie MC Tuka, soul-soaring rapper Sampa The Great and lyrical whiz B Wise have been announced for the next edition of Red Bull Sound Select.

Red Bull Music Academy: What Difference Does It Make?

Sometime last year, the annual Red Bull Music Academy took over New York City for a month-long run of rare performances, informative lectures, and groundbreaking concerts held throughout the city’s five boroughs.

During that month, Red Bull teamed up with esteemed director Raf Schmerberg, who shot and documented the series of shows and lectures in an effort to piece together a full-length film simply about making music.

The online web-series of documentaries exploring the world of online music has come to an end with Episode Six premiering this week. Whilst I was initially excited about the series airing, as the weeks went by, I found myself less and less excited of the content it was showing.

Heading to Zurich, LA, the Decibel Festival, New York… the Red Bull Music Academy’s new web-series H∆SHTAG$, takes a look at what was once called electronic music is now referred to as hip hop production.

Featuring some of more prolific producers and beat makers in the industry, Episode 4 features Flying Lotus, The Gaslamp Killer, Hudson Mohawke and Lunice aka TNGHT, XXYXX and Shlohmo.
