H.E.R. recently dropped the emotional video for her single “Hard Place”, the latest from her 2018 album I Used to Know Her: Part 2. The clip mirrors the singer’s real-life rise and shows her career rapidly outpacing that of her love interest – leading to some tense moments and tough decisions. It also gives us a glimpse as to what the singer-songwriter looks like without her signature glasses, just in case you’ve ever wondered.
H.E.R. is no longer a secret. Two years ago she was literally hiding behind the shadowy silhouette on her debut EP, “H.E.R.” and now the singer is nominated for five Grammys, including Album of the Year and Best New Artist. Earlier this month, NPR shared an 18-minute Tiny Desk concert with the singer, where we see her show off her skills as a musician too as she trades in an electric guitar for an acoustic one, then ditches the acoustic for a keyboard. This is a MUST WATCH.
Fresh off their “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” performance, soulful duo Daniel Caesar and H.E.R. join forces once again in the video for their “Best Part” collaboration. The juxtaposition of the video provides a split-screen view of Caesar at sunrise and H.E.R. at sunset. It’s cinematic and mysterious. Watch it now.
H.E.R.’s “Volume 1” EP arrived in 2016, and the vibes haven’t stopped flowing since. Having already dropped off the follow-up in the form of “Volume 2”, we get a minor trip down memory lane as she gifts us with the visuals in the form of the official music video for ‘Focus,’ originally found on the first project. Check it out now.
R&B singer/songwriter Daniel Caesar is the latest to appear on ‘COLORS Berlin’, an online music channel that aims to break down the barriers of the musical landscape. Caesar performs a solo rendition of ‘Best Part’ whilst casually sipping coffee/tea but it’s this stripped-down performance that really has us excited to see him perform next month when he heads down under for his Australian tour!
