Collection Preview: Converse Winter 2014

by

A few weeks ago, The 5 to 9 Life was invited to preview the new Winter 2014 collection for Converse.

Luckily for me, I already had a scheduled day off from the office because the event was held in the middle of the day with a catered lunch and fun activities to join in on.

Read on to see what went down.

André Saraiva: Dream Concerts

by

French graffiti artist André Saraiva takes MOCAtv to his studio at the Chateau Marmont, where he screenprints the playbills of his concept of ‘Dream Concerts’ before pasting them on city streets.

Based on his own musical tastes, Saraiva’s favourite artists/bands caters to everyone. From mainstream to hipsters to the classics, you have to admit that these are some pretty good line-ups and if it were real, I would happily fork out the cash to see any of these ‘concerts’.

André Saraiva’s next exhibition of ‘Dream Concerts’ will be held at Maison Kitsuné Tokyo from September 4th.

Hennessy Australia: Futura Lecture (Melbourne)

by

I often think that I book my trips to Melbourne at the wrong times.

Next month, graffiti artist Futura will be heading back down under to launch his collaboration with Hennessy, giving a one-off lecture at RMIT and later appearing at an instore signing and live painting at Someday.

If you’re in Melbourne, I highly recommend you attend this event. Did i mention it’s also FREE?! Damn.

Vans The Omega x TEDxCanberra

Working within the event theme of ‘An Optimistic Challenge’, Vans the Omega showcased his unique talent in the often polarising world of graffiti art, live, in a stripped-back performance that saw the artist create a new mural of artwork in less than a day, with over 600 event attendees watching on.
