Drawing inspiration from Peter Weir’s ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock’, [designer] Helen O’Connor presented a modern, timeless and playful collection this year for THURLEY at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia. ‘Fable’ featured a variety of techniques in beautiful fabrics which is sure to grow THURLEY’s loyal international following even more!

Australian Fashion Week may be over for another year, but last week C/MEO COLLECTIVE’s new collections, ‘Liminal’ and ‘Ornate’ reinforced why the Adelaide-based label is every fashion lover’s top choice when it comes to snagging “it” pieces. We’ve always been big fans of their playful, classy and feminine designs, and so it was very exciting to receive the opportunity to interview the label’s Head Designer, Siham Elmawey!

Emerging Designers Showcased Their Designs in the Raffles International Showcase at MBFWA

Since joining the official MBFWA program in 2011, the Raffles International Showcase has been widely recognised by the industry as one of the most anticipated and entertaining events on the Sydney emerging fashion calendar. This year at MBFWA, the designers featured were Rebecca Deasy, Melisa The, Carley Rose Wolski, Nath Vesaruttragool, Ashleigh Kwong, Letar Sangngern, and Wilson Nguyen.

This year at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia, “The Innovators: Fashion Design Studio” displayed the works of seven graduate students in a show that definitely gave us a reason to have confidence in the future of the Australian fashion industry.
