A Super Group of Producers Remixes Kehlani and Chance the Rapper

by

Appropriately tagged #SOULECTIONTSUNAMI, Sango has enlisted the help of his Soulection label mates Atu, Dpat, and Asante, to remix Kehlani and Chance The Rapper’s sultry new track ‘The Way; and it’s heavy on the feels, but would you really expect anything less from any of these artists?

Be sure to turn the volume up for this one.

Are You Down For Ta-ku and Alina Baraz?

by

Perth’s legendary artist/producer/photographer/creative extraordinaire Ta-ku has been putting together impressively emotionally themed works for some time, and his most recent one, “Songs To Make Up To”, had on it an entire tracklist of tunes evoking all of the emotions you’d expect a work with that title to have.

Unfortunately, we were without one particular cut from the standard body of tracks, and it might be the best one of them all.

Check out the Spotify-exclusive ‘Down For You’ featuring Alina Baraz; co-produced by Atu.

Ta-ku: Long Time No See Ft. Atu

by

Two of my favourite producers from the Soulection roster – Ta-ku and Atu – have teamed up once again on ‘Long Time No See’, a track featured on Ta-ku’s much-anticipated new EP, Songs To Make Up To.

Hit the link to listen to the dreamy track which provides a good indication of what the rest of the record might sound like.

Songs To Make Up To drops worldwide on June 12.

Atu: Till Then

by

Are you sitting in silence right now and looking for something to fill the void?

I recommend hitting play on Atu’s new single, ‘Till Then’.

It’s a gorgeous, haunting and engaging track with ethereal tones and an ambience that simply captures your imagination.

An Interview with Dpat

by

They say that the way you spend your New Year’s Eve, is how you’ll spend the rest of the new year. Something like that.

If that’s the case and it’s a true reflection of what to expect in 2014, then I’m content with things turning out the way they will be in the new year.

It’s New Year’s Eve with still a few hours to go until the final countdown of 2013, but I’m here in my new home of Melbourne sitting at my laptop doing what I love to do: write.

And if that’s the way 2014 is going to be, then all I can say is ‘Bring. It. On.’

Until that time comes, check out the last interview of the year with Grammy-nominated Houston producer, Dpat.

Product Review: UE BOOM

by

The new Ultimate Ears BOOM has some serious sound going on.

And by that, I mean that it’s LOUD.

The speaker not only looks simple in design but music emanates from 360 degrees, transforming the space around you into a lively and enveloping soundstage.

The UE BOOM has been developed for a deep, rich sound and with its simple cylindrical design, it features just four simple buttons (power, volume functions and the Bluetooth connection), and delivers optimal sound quality no matter where it’s placed in the room.

Its Bluetooth functionality also means you can wirelessly link it to your smartphone, laptop or tablet device.

Record Review: Atu – Pictures on Silence

by

Feeling a little uninspired this weekend to really do anything, Soulection delivered the goods with some new music in the form of ‘Pictures on Silence’ by new artist Atu.

It’s exactly what I needed to hear. Soulful tunes with evident influences from the 90s RnB era.

Check out my review of Atu’s ‘Pictures on Silence’.
