As the headline reads, we were invited to attend a special artist showcase at the Sydney HQ of Warner Music Australia this past Tuesday for Melbourne artist Dylan Joel. Not knowing too much about the artist, we didn’t have many expectations going into the event, but how did we feel walking out of the performance? Click the photo to find out!
Thandi Phoenix is an incredibly talented Sydney artist and honestly, we’ve been waiting for the rest of Australia to notice. Last weekend, she caught the attention of punters, fans and critics alike at BIG SOUND by emerging as one of the country’s new talents to watch.
This week, she released the visuals to an acoustic version of her new single, ‘Standing Too Close’ where we see Phoenix play the single in its entirety on the piano, while also showcasing her incredible vocal range.
After releasing ‘Sober’, Bishat received a lot of requests for an acoustic version, so she brought piano whiz kid Rasmus Lindelöw to Benny Andersson’s (legendary member of ABBA) studio in Stockholm to finally record the stripped down version and a video to go with it.
We could listen to this version over and over!
Check it out.
City and Colour are finally back with some new material since their 2013 acclaimed album, The Hurry and The Harm. Yay!
The new single, ‘Wasted Love’ is from their upcoming album, I Should Go Before You, and is a song of confessions about a failed romance.
Been there, done that. Listen to the tune that’s totally relatable.
After Lauryn Hill couldn’t make it to a show she had scheduled in Lagos, Nigeria this past weekend, she issued an online apology – but not in the way you would think.
You see, her video apology included Hill performing her The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill single ‘Doo Wop (That Thing).’
And trust me, when I say, she’s still got it.
I am SO excited that the anticipation for the release of BANKS‘ debut record, ‘Goddess’, is finally over, and let me tell you this: the wait was so worth it.
Tomorrow is the US release, and BANKS must all know how long she’s left everyone waiting, because she’s given us another single just before the album’s (US) release, in the form of new single, ‘Someone New’.
The late R&B siren Aaliyah perfected the kind of sound for her genre that was slow, sexy and intuitive, which in turn saw her becoming one of the greatest influences vocally for everyone creating R&B music today.
Model/singer/songwriter Andy Allo takes on the influence of Aaliyah to another level by channelling the 90s superstar in this cover of ‘At Your Best’.
