Record Review: Ta-ku – DOWHATYOULOVE

by

Regan Mathews aka Ta-ku has been at it again.

Whether it’s albums, guest mixes or taking a song that already sounds good and remixing it to make it sound even better, the Perth producer has shown that he really can do it all. And it seems as though he is not prepared to slow down or stop anytime soon.

And let’s all hope that he doesn’t.

Check out his debut record DOWHATYOULOVE, which you can purchase now via Jakarta Records.

Ta-ku: Love Lost // Soundcloud Community Interview

by

Ta-ku.

I know I’m always posting pieces on this particular producer but that’s because he’s always releasing new music. Or in the case of this week, he released a new song, and an interview that he did with Soundcloud – both of which are free to download.

The Perth beatmaker is really making the rest of us look bad. For those of us (myself included) trying to fit in a creative lifestyle and balance it with whatever else we have going on in our lives, it just seems like Ta-ku does not sleep – at all.

Read on for his latest release and the exclusive interview with Soundcloud.

Ta-ku – 25 Nights for Nujabes: Night 25

by

I have to admit, I am super sad that ’25 Nights For Nujabes’ has come to and end.

Night 1 did not seem all that long ago, and yet here we are at the end with Night 25. Ta-ku has created such a beautiful series of songs dedicated to the late Nujabes, that I’m sure both will be remembered for a long time to come.

Ta’Ku’s 25 Nights project is worth of truly inspiring and magical moments.

I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Ta-ku – 25 Nights for Nujabes: Night 24

by

The second last Night of the Nujabes dedication series ignites memories within and adds a romantic touch.

Although it is another short piece, the 75 seconds of music that you hear in Night 24 creates a mood that is more than words could possibly describe – but I still tried. 🙂

Ta-ku – 25 Nights for Nujabes: Night 22

by

Night 22 goes on longer than the other Nights, but that’s for good reason.

Listen and try to decipher what’s lurking between all the different layers within this one.

An old tune – according to its creator – but a new tune, to this writer.

Ta-ku – 25 Nights for Nujabes: Night 20

by

Night 20 has evoked so many emotions and feelings within that i don’t know if it’s a good or bad thing. Definitely one that I had to listen to a few times over and over, but my feelings towards it were the same – every time.

Not long to go until this project is over. Sad face.
