I’ll be the first to admit I wasn’t a fan of Ariana Grande when she first came onto the scene.
I read too many reviews and the constant comparisons to Mariah Carey got under my skin and to me – at least at the time – no-one could hold a candle to Ms Mariah Carey.
But over the last few years, I’ve really become a fan of Grande. Her 2018 record “Sweetener” is still on heavy rotation for me, personally.
During this tumultuous year that is 2020, Grande released a new record, “Positions” and one of the most talked-about singles, ’34+35,’ from that record now has an official music video to accompany it.
Directed by Julien Christian Lutz (aka Director X), the newly unveiled visual sees Ari going from pop star to sexy fembot.
Watch the video above as she leads a group of scientists to build a robot that resembles herself. With the pop star and her lab-mates clad in matching pink nightgowns towards the end of the video, movie buffs will probably also have noticed a kitschy and not-so-subtle reference to a scene from the ’90s spy comedy, Austin Powers.
