Mysterious R&B Collective Emotional Oranges Unveil New Single ‘Someone Else’

Not much is known of the LA-based male/female collective but a faceless mix of funky bass, break-beat drums and jazzy guitars fused for a refreshing, retro sound with futuristic undertones.

Taken from their forthcoming project “The Juice: Vol 1.,” out via Avant Garden on May 10, Emotional Oranges‘ new single ‘Someone Else’ is a groovy alt-pop track with hints of throwback R&B vibes for an exquisite pairing with their instantly recognisable girl-to-boy vocals.

On the single, Emotional Oranges exclaim, “This is the first time we’ve collaborated on a track outside of our camp. Dante Jones of THEY. helped produce this one, we wanted it to be on some 2020 Dr. Dre x Emotional Oranges energy. Wrote it about openly telling my girl that if she’s unhappy, she needs to go be with someone else!”

Breaking onto the scene just last year, the collective will soon look to further pull listeners into their enticing world with a full-length dose of sound that slides comfortably between the likes of Anderson.Paak and Disclosure with hints of Raveena, Snoh Aalegra and NAO.

The Los-Angeles duo are preparing for their debut tour in the US next month, but here’s hoping they come down under to our shores soon!
