Janelle Monáe Releases ‘Dirty Computer’ Short Film

Welcome to the world of "Dirty Computer," where marginalised people fight to exist in a world that wants to rid them of their “dirt” (read: difference). Janelle Monáe's "emotion picture" ties her recent music videos into one cohesive, Afro-futuristic whole, a project that you need to take some time out to watch.

GRAMMY®-nominated singer-songwriter, producer, actress, and activist Janelle Monáe has released a 48-minute short-film, in support of her new record, Dirty Computer. 

Dirty Computer: An Emotion Picture By Janelle Monáe” or “emotion picture” as Monáe calls it, stars Janelle as Jane 57821, Tessa Thompson as Zen and Jayson Aaron as Ché. The visual journey includes the previously released buzzworthy visuals for hot singles ‘‘Make Me Feel, ‘‘Django Jane’ and ‘‘PYNK’, giving fans an exciting peek into the creative vision for her new music.

In 2016 Monáe embarked on her film acting career with stellar performances in two milestone films, “Hidden Figures” and Moonlight; with both films receiving Academy Award nominations for Best Picture, with the latter winning the award at the 89th Academy Awards.

Her highly-anticipated third album”Dirty Computer is out now across the globe and features Pharrell Williams, Zoë Kravitz, Grimes and Brian Wilson.
