A Coco Chanel Retrospective is Heading to Melbourne Next Month

In November, the interior of South Yarra’s Como House will take on the appearance of something less Australian Regency, more 20th-century France. The transformation is in homage to the life of Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel as part of an immersive retrospective of the fashion icon. Click on the pic for all the deets!

All the fashion events we want to attend are heading to Melbourne!

For the first time ever, Como House and Garden are curating a collaborative Chanel retrospective as part of its ninth annual Paris to Provence Festival.

The Coco at Como instalment will celebrate all things Chanel and vintage French. Expect lots of pearls.

The unique event will see 80 rare couture pieces from Coco’s personal collections and international runway shows, courtesy of The Upstyler and Madam Virtue & Co.

Como House has tapped Anton Venoir Interiors to transform the house to resemble Coco’s Rue Cambon apartment. In a major throwback to the 1900s, the mansion will be decked with French antiques, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and original prints from the fashion house.

Guests will be taken through the marble house on a three-part journey.

The guided tours will tell the life of Coco Chanel through a sensory experience, including lighting, interactive displays and a live pianist.

The retrospective is part of the Paris to Provence festival, and can only be viewed in 30-minute sessions with a maximum of 25 people per tour.

Coco at Como is running November 24 to November 26. 20 tickets per session will be available online for pre-booking at $12, with an extra five tickets per session available for purchase on the day. You can grab a ticket right now from paristoprovence.com.au
