Louis Baker Confesses That He is an ‘Addict’ in His New Single

But it's not all the drugs and the alcohol that society tends to associate addicts with - Louis Baker is addicted to something else entirely. Listen to his new single 'Addict' to find out what that addiction is and how he encapsulates that feeling.

Despite how many times The 5 to 9 Life team have shared their love for New Zealand singer/songwriter Louis Baker, it seems that he is still an underdog, which we don’t really understand, but that won’t stop us from declaring our love for him as he releases more and more music. <3

Today, we present to you his latest single – and quite possibly, the last one we’ll hear from him as he disappears into the studio to go work on his next album – ‘Addict’.

Baker teamed up with two-time Ivor Novellowinner and Grammy nominated songwriter and producer Sacha Skarbek, producer Josh Fountain (LEISURE) and fellow New Zealander Em-Haley Walker (aka. Theia) to create the song, resulting in a Motown-inspired tune bringing out those R&B and soul vibes that we’re big fans of. Add in the rawness of Baker‘s vocals and you’ll be left wanting to go back to hit that play button again and again.

Simply put: we’re addicted. Pun intended.

Oh, and if you’re lucky enough to live in New Zealand, you might want to catch him live this month. He’ll be playing two shows at these venues:
