This Winter, Red Bull Music Academy (RBMA) and Dark Mofo will come together to present an event you never knew you needed to experience. It is set to challenge your typical clubbing experience, and will instead create an industrial-scale, transcendental warehouse rave titled ‘Transliminal’.
Held across two weekends at the Museum of Old and New Art’s Dark Mofo festival in Tasmania, the line-up for 2017 has officially been announced with English-born, Los Angeles-based DJ and producer DJ Harvey, The Netherland’s Legowelt, Lipelis, András, New York-based House of Ladosha member and mixed-media artist Juliana Huxtable, US house pioneer Maurice Fulton, J’Nett, and more.
Programmed by Red Bull Music Academy, ‘Transliminal’ invites attendees to dance beyond the threshold and worship in the temple of house & techno, as some of the world’s finest selectors bring the dark, electronic underbelly of their subterranean club scenes to Dark Mofo. Complementing the immersive sounds delivered by electronic pioneers, disorienting atmospheric light installations by Australian audio-visual artist Robin Fox will transform Hobart City Hall and heighten the dancer’s experience, making Red Bull Music Academy: ‘Transliminal’ an overwhelming sensual overload.
‘Transliminal’ will be held on June 9th and 10th, and again on 16th & 17th.
