A new television spot for Disney’s adaptation of “Beauty and the Beast” just debuted and it features Emma Watson singing ‘Belle,’ the opening number!
The clip premiered during the 2017 Golden Globes (January 8) and it gives us a taste of Emma’s singing voice in the film.
The uplifting song sees the former Harry Potter star singing about her ambition to break free from her life in a small town.
The remake will feature an all-star cast: Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Luke Evans as Gaston, Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Josh Gad as Le Fou, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, Audra McDonald as Garderobe, Kevin Kline as Maurice, Stanley Tucci as Cadenza, and Ian McKellan as Cogsworth! Whew!
When I was a young girl, “Beauty and the Beast” was quite possibly one of my favourite Disney films. I still love it to this day and hope to watch it with my nieces when they’re both old enough to watch and understand the animated film.
Even if I didn’t have the blog as a platform to share the news of the remake, I would still be very excited to check out the film when it comes out.
“Beauty and the Beast” hits theaters on March 17.
