Oddisee is an artist we’ve always been fans of – not only for his production and lyricism but also for the subject matter and the perspective he provides in his songwriting.
This February, we’ll get a brand-new project from the globetrotting rapper in “The Iceberg,” and, he’s recently revealed the first track ‘Things’ and an international tour announcement as well.
‘Things,’ is surprisingly, a bright and bouncy dance track (which is not usually what you’d expect from Oddisee), but the song’s energy contradicts its lyrical content.
The single is a confessional that finds the Maryland-born, Brooklyn-based rapper-producer wrestling with his status.
What a view when it’s all for the show, assuming that I’m doing what you already know
I think I’m in the middle of a palm heavy globe everybody trying to steal what I already own
But oh in this life we are all but alone, the feeling that you are is a problem, condone
Needless to say, you’ll want to listen to this one, and you can also catch tour dates HERE. We’ll be sure to keep you posted once Australian dates are announced.
