Never did I ever think #the5to9life would be invited to a couture show. Let alone to New York Fashion Week.
But they both happened: when Irina Vitjaz debuted her ‘Pure Couture’ line at NYFW a couple days ago.
I can’t even put into words the excitement (nor could I contain it) felt when the invitation appeared in our inbox. A truly, truly momentous occasion.
Plus, before we left for NYC, this was the only show we could really make as we were still in Sydney for the opening shows. Damn, damn, damn. I’ll openly blame my corporate career for not letting me have a few days extra off work. There I said it. It’s on the internet and I’m not taking it back ever. Ha.
Anyways, back to the topic at hand. Irina Vitjaz is a multitalented Austrian fashion designer born in Russia, and her showcase at NYFW was nothing short of gowns, gowns, beautiful gowns!
Her creations are extravagant but elegant, pure and feminine and the debut of ‘Pure Couture’ is surely going to catapult her into the spotlight amongst fashion enthusiasts, fellow designers and the fashion industry as a whole.
Irina Vitjaz is an international fashion icon in Europe, but are you really surprised? We’re not. We’re looking forward to what else she has in store for the (fashion) world.
