‘Hidden Figures’ Tells True Story of Black Women at NASA Who Launched John Glenn into Orbit

Meet the women who helped the first American astronaut make a complete orbit of the Earth: Taraji P. Henson, Janelle Monae and Octavia Spencer are the NASA geniuses in the incredible untold story of 'Hidden Figures'. Check out the official trailer.

It’s the phenomenal true story of the black female mathematicians at NASA whose calculations helped fuel some of America’s greatest achievements in space.

Before John Glenn orbited the earth, or Neil Armstrong walked on the moon, a group of dedicated female mathematicians known as “human computers” used pencils, slide rules and adding machines to calculate the numbers that would launch rockets, and astronauts, into space.

The film stars Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson dressing down for her role as the bespectacled Katherine Johnson, Academy Award-winning actress Octavia Spencer as Dorothy Vaughan and singing sensation Janelle Monáe as Mary Jackson.
