Watch CRi’s Stunning New Vid ‘Why I Love You’ Shot In Cuba

Young Art Records is the imprint launched by recording artist TOKiMONSTA in 2014. Since then, a host of artists have been included to the roster including Montreal producer, CRi. His music defies predictable electronic pigeonholing, yet he has developed a signature of gently undulating synths, soaring vocal hooks and throbbing jolts of rhythm. Watch the visuals for his video now.

CRi, an abbreviation of the name Christophe, is also the French word for ‘shout’ or ‘scream’.

Quite the contradiction when you consider the subtlety of Montreal beatmaker Christophe Dubé’s dreamy compositions or his reluctance to appear front and centre in his music videos. Following in the syncopated footsteps of local heroes Kaytranada, Jacques Greene, and Lunice, CRi is a self-taught house producer who has built a dedicated following through his poignant and visually arresting music videos.

CRi just released his “Tell Her” EP on TOKiMONSTA‘s Young Art Records imprint.

Montreal producer Christophe Dubé aka CRi’s second single from the EP, ‘Why I Love You’ was just released and features vocals from CRi‘s live bandmates Ouri & Odile M.

The breathtaking video for the song was filmed in Havana, Cuba and directed by Romain F. Dubois. Dubois notes of the video:

“I wanted to show the lightheartedness of solitude… Creating a bubble around a character, a peaceful moment in Havana.”
