Brisbane Singer WAFIA Makes Our ‘HeartBurn’

Whilst many may not yet recognise her name, Ta-ku recently put WAFIA in the spotlight with their recreation of an Estelle cover, but now WAFIA has managed to put herself in the spotlight with a single that demands your attention. Heart-melting lyrics teamed with polished production from Ta-ku himself, everyone will know who WAFIA is after hearing this single.

Our girl WAFIA has released a new single that will make your ‘Heart melt Burn’.

The single has been gathering some considerable hype since its release and has served as a fitting introduction to WAFIA as one of Australia’s most breathtaking young vocalists. The single itself is an incredibly ambitious record with elements of downtempo hip-hop, trap music, swirling melodies and layered vocals.

The electronic subtleties surrounding that catchy hook come from Ta-ku‘s signature production, which will have you wanting to hit replay over and over. This isn’t Ta-Ku and Wafia’s first collaboration together; they recently re-created Estelle’s ‘American Boy’ in a deconstructed, slowed-down space, switching up the name to ‘American Girl.

‘HeartBurn’ is the first taste taken from her upcoming debut EP “XXIX”, due out November 20th via Future Classic.

All this time you left me wanting more
Had me swallow all of my pride
I wonder where this part of you came from
It was hidden in the shallow of your eyes
