When the legendary lyricist Missy Elliott released her new song ‘WTF (Where They From)’ featuring Pharrell Williams and dropped a banging visual to accompany it this week, the internet went CR-AZ-Y!!
The track, with its dynamic beat and nonsensical lyrical verses, is vintage Missy, and the video is even more vintage Missy.
On top of the spectacular choreography, makeup, and direction, the track itself is an instant hit.
Pharrell also lends his MC talents on a verse, as does Missy’s protege Sharaya J.
This is probably one of the most hotly anticipated comebacks in years, but excitement reached a fever pitch in February when Missy appeared during Katy Perry’s 2015 halftime show, which left Missy fans hungry for some new music.
No word on an album date yet but we’ll be sure to report it to you.
