He’s been described as a renaissance man quite a lot recently. Most likely due to the fact that he is one of Australia’s in-demand beatmakers, but on top of that has also managed to curate a rapidly-expanding creative empire spanning across music, photography, film, design, travel and lifestyle. Phew.
It’s been almost two years since he’s released new music and I’m so glad to hear that he has finally jumped back into the studio.
“Songs To Make Up To” drops around the world on June 12, and his latest teaser is in the form of ‘Long Time No See’ featuring Detroit’s Atu.
Coming together for the second time, Ta-ku and Atu have tapped into some complex emotions with their collaborative track this time around.
A lovely piano-led number, ‘Long Time No See’ is a really poetic single, with drums, hi-hats and samples weaving in and out of the track to create ambient, atmospheric vibes.
I love both Ta-ku and Atu individually as artists/producers but it’s clear to see that together, these two can do no wrong. I’m predicting an announcement of a joint EP. Til then, I’ll be waiting patiently. 😉
