Brooklyn trio WET are back with a brand new track off their much-anticipated debut album “Don’t You” which will be out later this year. FINALLY.
WET were recently in the country for the first time ever playing headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne, as well as supporting UK act London Grammar on a completely sold-out national tour.
On the new single, ‘Deadwater’, Kelly Zutrau sings about treading water and slinging around the dead weight of a relationship, which I’m sure a handful of us can relate to – the appeal of tragedy and heartbreak is always more tempting (and easier to write about) than the solidarity of a happy ending. Don’t you agree?
The tune is reminiscent of a 90s slow jam (which is one of my favourite genres) and Zutrau’s tone is so delicate, the rawness just tugs at your heartstrings. Enjoy.
