I grew up listening to the music of Tracy Chapman and these days, with the music that is being played on radio; I feel like sometimes you just need a classic song by an upstanding artist like Chapman to cut through the “noise” that we currently have to endure with.
For the record, I hardly listen to the radio. My music sources are either from the internet or through friends’ recommendations and suggestions.
Late night television performances are usually reserved for artists promoting new music, but things are different on The Late Show With David Letterman right now.
Chapman, making a rare television appearance, performed a beautiful rendition of Ben E. King’s classic ‘Stand by Me’ as a special send-off to David Letterman, who says the song was a childhood favourite.
It’s one of my favourite songs too. Which song was deemed a favourite when you were growing up?
