Out of all the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia that The 5 to 9 Life was invited to this year, there was only one that provided the sought-after tagline of being “invitation only”.
So you can probably imagine that I was pretty excited for this one.
Being the last show of Wednesday evening at 9pm, by that time, the rain had started to kick in and as the show was offsite from the main venue of Carriageworks, more than a few of the attendees got caught out in the rain.
However, just after the scheduled time, we were all quickly rushed inside to the Anna Schwartz Gallery, presented with handsome waiters offering us cocktails and canapés.
In order to ensure that guests at the show were able to completely absorb the beautiful detailing of each piece, Stevie May presented the collection with each model standing on plinths like works of art for more than 20 minutes.
The evening also marked the launch of a fashion film designed to accompany the collection. The film which had an original score created by sound artists Ginger & The Ghost was projected on a large scale behind the models, which you can watch below.
