'I wouldn't write unless it was directly personal to me, just because I wouldn't be able to tell the story right.' - Any Winehouse. Whilst Winehouse is referring to her songwriting and lyrics, that statement is also true for me and my writing. I don't write about anything unless I've experienced it or it's affected me in some way or another. Check out the trailer for an upcoming documentary to be released in July - #AMY.

“I don’t think I’m going to be at all famous. I don’t think I could handle it. I would probably go mad, do you know what I mean? I would go mad.”

Hearing Amy Winehouse utter these words really sets the tone for an upcoming full-length documentary on the artist due to be released on July 3rd in the U.K.

The film is directed by British filmmaker and BAFTA award-winner Asif Kapadia, and based on the trailer alone, “AMY” is sure to tug hard at the heartstrings of every single person who was ever a fan of the ‘Rehab’ singer.

No more than 90 seconds, the trailer for “AMY” is haunting and moving at the same time. That’s a very rare feeling to achieve. But then again, it is Amy Winehouse and who wasn’t moved or haunted by her music?

I know I definitely was at some point multiple points of my life.

“Back to Black” was such an emotional and influential record to so many worldwide and Winehouse touched us in a way that very few musicians are able to do.

I have no doubts in my mind that this Amy Winehouse documentary is going to be absolutely amazing.

Rest In Peace #AMY.
