Passerine: Set Me Alight

Post-disco, Melbourne trio Passerine, fronted by dynamic vocalist and classically trained viola player Phoebe Dubar, has recently released the new single ‘Set Me Alight’. They're also set to play a couple of shows in Sydney and Melbourne to launch the new single. Check them out.

It’s hard to define the sound of a new artist/band when so many of them like to blend, mix, and layer a whole bunch of different ones together.

Melbourne trio Passerine‘s sound expresses just that: a mix of genres. Which genres? For me, I hear a blend of dance and electronic with elements of pop and disco.

As much as what you may think that mix of sounds brings; frontwoman Phoebe Dubar (who is a dynamic vocalist and classically trained viola player) somehow provides us with an undertone of chilling vibes via her smouldering lyrics.

If you like what you hear, Passerine are set to play a couple of shows in Sydney and Melbourne to launch the new single so be sure to catch them live.

– Friday 13 February – ‘Set Me Alight’ Melbourne Launch @ Revolver Bandroom – Melbourne
– Friday 21 March – ‘Set Me Alight’ Sydney Launch @ The Newsagency – Sydney
