As we head into the warmer months of the year’s end for Spring and Summer, Nike presents a trio of sportswear classics with its brand new “Breathe” collection.
A couple of seasons ago, the Nike Design Team went to Brazil to get insights (but also were most likely there for the FIFA World Cup), and they came back with the concept of their new collection.
Combating the heat with breathable, lightweight construction, “Breathe” takes cues from Brazil’s notorious hot and humid conditions — as well as the country’s on-the-go lifestyle — to create special deconstructed takes on the likes of the Roshe Run, Air Max 1, and Air Max Lunar1.
With each design consisting of breathable materials, minimalist construction, and breathable upper construction, it’s amazing that the Design Team were able to create a shoe that’s “soft, flexible and can be worn with or without socks”.
AM LUNAR 1 BREATHE
The Nike Air Max Lunar1 is the definitive union of lightweight cushioning and flexibility. This season, the beveled ribs of Nike Lunarlon is highlighted by a coloured window that compliments the mesh upper.
AM 1 BREATHE
Stripped of the traditional leather, suede and synthetic toe overlay, the Air Max 1 Breathe sheds weight and improves breathability. A dynamic fit tongue ensures the foot stays secure and moves with the body, while an updated phlylon tooling makes the sole ultra-light and super comfortable.
ROSHE RUN BREATHE
The definition of cool style and bright colours dominate this season’s Roshe Run. The men’s boast bright and vivid platforms, which brings a nice contrast to the neutral uppers; whilst the women’s is the opposite with white platforms supporting bright uppers and accented with a signature white swoosh.
Topping off each design with some bold Summer-inspired hues and mesh construction, Nike’s “Breathe” drop surely liberate your feet as we enjoy Australia’s sunshine and hopefully, don’t encounter too many heat-waves along the way.
The “Breathe” collection is out now and will be in stores until the new year. What are you waiting for? Get onto it!
