Last Wednesday, I decided to embark on a whirlwind trip to Sydney – I was literally there for about 12 hours! Crazy? Yes. Worth it? Absolutely.
I had missed out on attending the KOOKAÏ Australia Autumn/Winter Runway Show earlier this year, so when I received a ‘Save the Date’ for the Spring/Summer Runway Show, I was pretty excited to learn that there was a chance I could attend.
So I made a crazy last-minute decision to do so! As an extra bonus, The 5 to 9 Life was also offered backstage access to catch a glimpse of the models getting dolled up with hair and make-up. Ooh la la!
But let’s get talking about the fashion, shall we?
Next Monday marks the first day of Spring. Woohoo!! Having survived my first Melbourne Winter, I am celebrating and counting down. But what should we all be adding to our wardrobes for Spring and Summer this year?
KOOKAÏ has the answer.
This season’s Spring/Summer collection for 2014/15 was showcased on an entirely different set-up (shown above) to what I’ve seen in previous years and it only added to the excitement of what we were about to experience that night at Sydney’s Carriageworks.
Based on the collection being photographed in St Tropez, “Tropezians” saw the iconic Australian brand working in classic styles, longer hemlines and nautical elements.
“With highlight prints of Bahama sunset tone Palms and coloured stripes, KOOKAÏ creates a Summer uniform suitable for all Australian women.”
Bringing the SS14/15 Campaign to life, 24 models including Alexandra Agoston, Nicole Trunfio and Nicole Pollard took to the unique runway and showcased 70 looks from the new Spring/Summer Collection! That’s right – 70!!
The photos pretty much speak for themselves, but if you’re looking to inject some of your own personality with the trends that we saw on the Runway that night, then this is what you need to know to add to your own wardrobes: monochrome, stripes, pastels, and lots of white!
The Little White Dress (LWD) was definitely one of the stand-outs of the night, and proved to be a favourite for many (as I overhead comments and conversations around me) as well as a few other pieces that I will be hoping to purchase myself for Spring/Summer. Let’s hope the sun shows Melbourne some love this Summer so that I can show-off these pieces from KOOKAÏ’s new collection. 😉
Can’t wait to see these Runway looks out on the streets! Which look will you be wearing?
