Jeff Hamada is a great individual. I had the pleasure of meeting him last year at CARBON 2013 and although we only conversed in limited time periods, it was nice to find out that although he’s the owner of one of the world’s most successful art blogs aka Booooooom.com, he is really friendly, down-to-earth, and modest about everything he’s achieved.
This year, he’s embarking on a special collaboration with the bag brand that everyone is wearing, Herschel Supply Co. to produce a limited edition backpack and art project entitled, “Drawing On The Past”.
The idea is to draw a person, place, or thing, that’s had a positive impact on your life, and write a few sentences about it. Jeff will be showcasing these drawings and sharing your stories on Booooooom. The project will end with an art show in Vancouver, where Jeff will show selected work from the project’s submissions.

As for the backpack itself, there are only 75 bags for sale, and they will go live July 7th at 9am PST on Herschel’s website. If you like what you see, make sure you bookmark the link yo. Word of warning though, Herschel only ships to US and Canada so if you know a way to get around that little obstacle, then go for your life!
Whether you’re an artist or not, I think it would be a pretty fun activity to participate in.
