Mikos Da Gawd: Lauryn Hill – Doo Wop (Remix)

I wish I had known about San Fran's Mikos Da Gawd sooner, because clearly I've been missing out on a great producer. His new release (and my first introduction to him), remixing Lauryn Hill’s first single 'Doo Wop (That Thing)' from her 1998 debut album 'The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill', is funky, funky, FUNKY. Get onto it!

Mikos - Lauryn Hill - Doo Wop (Remix)

I had the best sleep last night. And I only say that in the sense of the fact that I usually average 6 hours a night. Crazy, I know, but it’s been that way for a few years now so when I get more than 8 hours of sleep, I feel like I’ve gone to heaven.

Sleeping in and finding out that it’s Sunday and not Monday is the icing on the cake!

Waking up to this tune right here from Mikos just puts a couple of cherries and sprinkles to that icing! Ha.

Honestly, I heard this track a few days ago but it’s almost essential for me to listen to it on a daily basis.

The remix from San Fran’s talented producer doesn’t take away too much from the original but rather, it builds on the beats of the track, making it become more alive. It’s both refreshing and upbeat. I don’t know all that much about Mikos (his Soundcloud only dates back to 10 months ago) but this particular tune was reposted to my Soundcloud timeline, and when I saw Lauryn’s face, I knew I had to hit that play button.

Thank goodness I did. I’m so addicted to this release!

With added production from the guys at Penthouse Penhouse, Miko’s remix of Lauryn Hill’s ‘Doo Wop’ is definitely providing those feel good Sunday morning vibes that are very much needed right now.
