Kevin Tran: South of the River

Kevin Tran creates art with composition, textures, shapes and pops of colours that gives his pieces character and personality. Tonight, the artist will be at Capsule's Central Park store in Sydney to launch a limited edition collection of pocket tees with Sydney label, Low End Theory.

Kevin Tran - South of the River

Having spent the last 2 years or so in London, illustrator Kevin Tran has returned to his home city of Sydney for a short stint of shows and the next one he’s got going on will surely give you all a taste of what exactly he’s been up to.

This will probably be the best chance for you to catch him if you’re around in Sydney, because He’s looking to fly overseas once these exhibitions are over.

Whilst the now London-based artist has been in the design game for a while, it seems he is still considered an emerging artist to many.

Kevin Tran breathes life and energy into his compositions by layering acrylic, chalk pastel, water colour, gouache and indian ink, and balances these gestural marks with intricate patterns and detailed pencil lines into his body of work.

As a fan of his work, I would recommend that you don’t sleep on this opportunity to see his work. As a special collaboration with Capsule Store and apparel label Low End Theory, Kevin will be translating his new body of work into a limited edition collection of pocket-tees.

Head on down to Capsule Central Park Tuesday night tonight, choose your favourite printed artwork pattern (designs shown below), and either a black, white, or grey marle t-shirt. Then pop everything into one of the envelopes available and write your personal details on the front. The guys at Low End Theory will stitch up your personalised pocket-tee and ship it straight to your door.

Talk about service!

As mentioned, these tees are super limited, so make sure you get to the launch night tomorrow super early to grab one of the first tees. You’re sure to regret it if you show up late!
