Referencing John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous anti-war ‘bed-ins’ in both the song’s title and cover art, ‘Bed Peace’ from Jhene Aiko paints a pretty picture through its lyrics.
It’s almost like you can imagine the visuals of each scene playing out as Jhene Aiko sings each verse and hook.
A guest verse from Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino acts as a welcoming visitor to the scenes already captured in my mind as the song continues.
‘Everything else can wait.’
I particularly love Aiko during the last minute of the song. The sweet delivery of the lyrics makes for a more dreamy and satisfying listen, particularly in contrast and in response to Gambino’s set of rhymes.
Jhene Aiko’s new EP, “Sail Out” drops October 29.
