Product Review: LAYERxlayer Micro Dot Pouch

Let’s face it. If you are looking for a bag today then there are a lot of factors to consider. Lots and lots of factors. And usually the main one is that you don't want a bag that looks and feels the same as everyone else's. That's where LAYERxlayer are different. They have a number of items that are finely crafted and full of smart detailed design. Those details are exactly what sets their bags apart too. Each incorporate a number of domestically sourced materials like duck canvas, waxed canvas, leather, and denim with a few non-domestically sourced brass buckles and other metals to create the perfect palette, mixed in with a balance of colours and patterns. LAYERxlayer Micro Dot Pouch_of a kind

My new favourite mini-bag has arrived in the form of the the Micro Dot Pouch designed by Layerxlayer.

This design in particular was released for online store of a kind.

Only 50 were made and I am the proud owner of one of these exclusively designed multi-functional beauties.

Before I go on, I have to mention the packaging of my delivery. of a kind believe in personalisation and I love it when brands add that little extra touch to their deliveries. A little note to the recipient goes a long way and it definitely made me feel just a tad more special and appreciated hehe. 🙂

Hand-printed in New Haven, Connecticut; using 100% duck canvas with a water-resistant finish, and originally designed with Summer in mind, this of a kind edition has been prettified with a print of sunshine yellow under teeny polka dots. This pouch is so cute and was definitely a subtle, yet stand-out piece during Australia’s Winter conditions when I took it out with me in the streets of Sydney.

LAYERxlayer Micro Dot Pouch

“The multi-functional pouch is ready to hold your makeup or your office supplies, with handy exterior pockets to keep brushes and pens in check. Oh, and it’s water resistant, protecting it against eyeshadow spills and ink stains, too.”

With that being said, I didn’t use the pouch for any of these functions, but rather as a clutch for my after work adventures. With plenty of room inside and an external pocket on the outside, I filled up the pouch with everything including my wallet, keys, make-up, notebook, pen, iPhone and more!

LAYERXLAYER owners and crafters Leah Fabish and Patrick Turiello don’t want their brand to be just about bags. With backgrounds and interests in architecture, food, art, and film it would be impossible for them to be just about bags.

“WE ARE NOT A “BRAND”. Instead, we consider ourselves to be a ‘collaborative studio’. We’re not trying to sell any sort of idealized lifestyle. Rather, we prefer to let the work speak for itself. Our goal remains simple: To create the best things that we possibly can.”

What I truly love about this LAYERxLAYER and of a kind collaboration is that not only is the pouch a basic design decorated with a pretty print; it’s unique, affordable and is made in small quantities which means that not everyone on this planet will own one.
