So if you’re an avid follower of my social media platforms (i.e Facebook, Instagram and twitter), you’ll know that on Tuesday night, I was invited to attend the KOOKAÏ Runway Show to preview their new Spring/Summer collection for 2013/14.
Held at the Australian Technology Park in Sydney, and sponsored by Laurent-Perrier Australia, L’Oréal Professionnel Australia, Porsche Centre Willoughby, Fiji Water Australia and HUB Makeup, it was a star-studded affair.
With champagne and canapés on offer before the runway show kicked off, the crowd was filled with guests from the press and media; Australia’s famous faces, and fashion’s elite including Jodi Gordon, Channel V presenter Carissa Walford, actresses Charlotte Best & Lisa Gromley, ANTM judge Didier Cohen, Australia’s Got Talent judge Timomatic, and last year’s ambassador for the brand, Nicole Trufino.
“The new KOOKAÏ Spring / Summer collection which incorporates Aztec prints inspired by the vast Mexican culture with a bold colour palette. The key shapes and silhouettes are focused on ‘separates’ with a strong emphasis on seasonal “must haves” such as printed playsuits, asymmetric hems, silk wide leg pants and crop tops, paired back with the growing footwear and accessories category of strong metals and soft leathers.”
I’ve included only a handful of my favourite pieces from the upcoming collection within this review, but you can view the collection via the video below.
Walking down the runway to a soundtrack that included Lorde, Clubfeet, Chris Malinchak, Flume and Hermitude; KOOKAÏ definitely displayed a fun, vibrant and fresh Spring/Summer 2014 range that had everyone talking about afterwards!
