So I think it’s safe to say that we’ve officially hit the cooler months of Autumn heading into Winter down under, and what better way to transition into these next few months than with some new threads from Nike?
It’s been a few weeks now since the Late Winter 2013 collection dropped in stores, but instead of writing up about the entire collection, I wanted to focus my words on my favourite pieces from both the men’s and women’s collections.
So here we go. Let’s kick it off with what pieces stood out to me from the men’s collection:
With a bright pop of colour and water repellant fabric, the wind-resistant jacket will not only provide you with enough warmth on those cooler days, it’s also the perfect layering piece whether you’re running, training or heading out for the day.
“This jacket is perfect for comfort and style for your daily runs or running around town. Lining and pocket bags made of dri-fit mesh to enhance breathability and range of motion.”
Look classy and savvy, but still be sporty with the Nike TOKI LOW TXT. The grey and white colourway is a fresh take on the rest of the collection which boasts a lot of colour, and somehow stands out on its own. An ultra supportive and comfortable fit is provided with the textile upper and the autoclave midsole fuses the outsole to the midsole for reduced weight.
“This all purpose Nike backpack features a strong brushed polyester fabric with dual-zippered main compartment and adjustable padded shoulder straps.”
The ‘Cheyenne Pursuit 2.0’ Backpack from Nike is constructed from durable, resistant material, and with an external zippered laptop compartment and separate storage space for your sneakers, this is the bag you need when travelling short or long distances.
And now, time for the stand out pieces from the women’s Late Winter collection.
Check out the colourway on the profile of that shoe! Nike assures us that the Lunarbase TR Women’s training shoe features exceptional cushioning and internal support plus flexibility and traction so you can go all out when you train.
“An internal pro wrap bootie acts as a baselayer to provide support with an external single layer mesh upper, whilst the midsole provides a softer core and a firmer carrier for comfort and support.”
Good looking, and comfy too? Training shoes at its best!
Another pair of soles that are a standout in the latest collection. And I only have one word to describe it: HOT. The perfect pair to keep you warm this Winter. For those who remember, this ‘black on black’ sneaker was part of the Sky Hi Fashion Week collection, released earlier this year.
“The iconic Nike basketball high top from 1985 has been re-crafter with a hidden 2.6″ wedge.”
There’s something about these pants that take me back. Their design in the lightweight french terry and capri length is like a throwback to the early 90s era with its label of “Nike Track and Field” running down along the left leg in a non-PVC print.
SPECIAL MENTION: The Roshe Runs were also part of this collection but since I’ve already declared my love for those sneakers (for both the fellas and ladies), I decided to save you from reading about them again.
