Earlier this week, Janelle Monáe premiered a video to accompany her new single, ‘Q.U.E.E.N’.
Super catchy, super funky tune.
Regrettably, I missed Monáe when she played last year’s Vivid Festival, but even from her videos, it is clear that she is a performer. And she certainly knows how to entertain and put on a show. Damn.
The official video sees Monáe coming to life in the futuristic Living History Museum, with Erykah Badu (or, as she’s referred to in the video, Badoula Oblongata), entering the scene dripping with attitude.
The video and this song is so captivating! I am obsessed. If I don’t update anything else on the blog today, it’s because I’m watching this video over and over again.
“I heard this life is just a play with no rehearsal
I wonder will this be my final act tonight?
And tell me what’s the price of fame?”
‘Q.U.E.E.N’ appear on Monáe’s upcoming album “Electric Lady”, the follow-up to 2010’s “The ArchAndroid”.
