“Nike celebrated the Air Force 1 30th Anniversary at Ambush Gallery last night, along with the exclusive launch of a new symbol of force – the Nike Lunar Force 1.
The night featured a Nike Air Force Sneaker Exhibition and musical entertainment from music producer Jonti.
Guests were also among the first to view the latest Nike campaign which forms part of a global celebration of the past 30 years of Air Force 1 and the launch of the new Lunar Force 1 range – ‘The Ones.’
Attending guests included Nike ‘Influencers such as fashion designers’, Vanishing Elephant; audio visual DJ, Sampology; Sneaker Freaker founder, Simon ‘Woody’ Wood; curator & music producer, Jonti
Among those to feature the exclusive content and product launch were Kate Peck (MTV), DJ Nino Brown, Sydney Swans Ted Richards and a host of local sneaker fans & faces.”
The new Air Force 1 aka The Lunar Force 1 is, I have to say, pretty damn nice. If I recall, it was described by Woody as the “lighter, whiter, and brighter version” of the earlier designs. To me, if I was to sum it up in one word, I’d say: CRISP. That’s all.
The crowd was full of sneakerheads, hip hop lovers, media and a whole lot of hipsters eating mini burgers, hot dogs, tacos, etc, and enjoying the free beer and cider on offer.
Those in attendance were also treated to a performance by Stones Throw Records’ artist Jonti, who dropped an exclusive track inspired by the Air Force 1. Check out a little snippet of the track that I managed to record! 😉

Until the sneaker’s official release date, enjoy the pics from the party!
*Special thanks to Nike for the invitation.
