Everything that you ever thought was cool has most likely been redefined by this man. Pharrell Williams is a creative force, using music, fashion, and design to express his distinctive style.
A force to be reckoned with.
Originating at the crossroads of music, art, design, popular culture, and street savvy, Pharrell Williams’s output is one of a kind. By playing off different disciplines of music, fashion, street art, and design, and using each as an element in the other, Pharrell has redefined the role of the contemporary recording artist, blazing a trail for other musicians and prominent cultural figures.
‘Pharrell: Places and Spaces I’ve Been’ explores Pharrell’s musical career in depth, charting his many projects from his production team The Neptunes, to the band N.E.R.D., and his collaborations with friends Kanye West, Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, and other hip-hop royalty. This unprecedented volume documents Pharrell’s prolific body of work and his contribution to contemporary culture.
The above clip shows him talking about the book and preparing for his first book signing in Los Angeles.
Further promoting the book, Pharrell appeared on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” last night to discuss the book amongst other things, like who he’s currently working with, how N.E.R.D was formed, and the concept behind his book.
Pharrell’s ‘Places and Spaces I’ve Been’ is on my Birthday/Christmas wish list. 😉
And I’m very much looking forward to hearing the result of that Frank Ocean x Jay-Z x Pharrell collaboration that was mentioned. Damn.
