First off, Sydney needs an event like this.
“Media Talks” is the event I’m referring to, created by TV personality Faustina “Fuzzy” Agolley, but unfortunately, it’s not in Sydney. It’s in my favourite Australian city of Melbourne. Damn. And yes, I love Melbourne more than Sydney. Don’t you know me by now? I’m sure I’ve mentioned it a few times! Haha. If you know me, you know this to be very true.
So what exactly is “Media Talks”?
“Media Talks“ is a rare event that is happening in Melbourne on 30th August, 2012. Faustina ‘Fuzzy’ Agolley is more than just a pretty face. She is the brainchild behind this exclusive event and will offer attendees a true reflection and insight into the industry, and offer them the chance to have their questions answered, to be inspired, and to walk away with real and honest knowledge on the Australian media industry.
The event will be hosted by Agolley, with a panel of writing/media rockstars including the likes of ABC journalist Auskar Surbakti, Herald Sun’s features writer Megan Miller and Television Executive Producer Rachel Moor. Keep reading for the full line-up as well as the finer details of the event.

Free to attend but you have to register online. If you’re interested, you can do that here.
If you are interested in the media industry and looking for ways to get “your foot in the door”, you should register for this event! Last day to register is 22nd August, 2012 so make sure you do your research and think of questions that will make you worthy of being chosen!
It may be a crazy idea but I’ve registered my interest! I’m always in Melbourne anyway so making the trip does not bother me whatsoever but this is how I see it:
If you know what you want to do in life and are really passionate about something, you should do whatever it takes to get you to that point. Speaking from personal experience, I have participated in things and made certain choices that have stressed me out, and drained me mentally, emotionally, physically and financially! But at the end of the day, you just have to make sure that you’re doing something with your life that makes you happy and makes you want to wake up and get out of bed everyday. After all the things I’ve been through, I can honestly say every decision I’ve made has made all the things I’ve achieved worth it.
Or for a summary of my preaching above, you can always refer to either:

b) read a variation of it from Steve Jobs below 🙂
